Browns Hotel

27-29 Victoria Rd, Dartmouth TQ6 9RT, UK – 01803 832572

Well what to say. The food is delicious and the wine list is a fantastic. Really enjoyed my evening here. Would definitely recommend! 🥂

Walked in off the street asking about rates and we were offered more than the rate on their website. It took some negotiating to get it down to the advertised rate. The room was basically clean but there was mould on the ceiling above the shower. The floor in the room also had a 5 degree slant across the room. Not a problem apart from the bed being on a slope. The breakfast was good and we were given some nice advice on places to visit on our check out.

Townstal Farmhouse Hotel

Townstal Rd, Dartmouth TQ6 9HY, UK – 01803 832300

Had a fantastic time at Townstal Farmhouse. The room was lovely and the breakfast first class. Very clean. Don’t be put off by the hill as there is a regular and reliable bus service from outside the Farmhouse to the harbour. Pete from Bristol

Handily situated and well appointed. Rooms are lovely and breakfast very good . What more would you want from a B&B

Royal Castle Hotel

11 The Quay, Dartmouth TQ6 9PS, UK – 01803 833033

Lovely hotel but I came for the 3 course meal. I had crab starter which was wonderful, melt in the mouth. Carvery followed all cooked as can be expected and you could take as much or little as you like. Lovely puddings to choose from. Staff were short staffed but were attentive and polite. Lots of choice of drinks and beautiful view from the main window. Highly recommend booking and enjoying a meal here

Great carvery lunch on Sunday. Took the boat trip from Torquay to Dartmouth then had lunch before returning. Good choice of roasts, excellently cooked, hot, vegetables and nice staff. Recommended.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Dolphin @ Dartmouth

5 Market St, Dartmouth TQ6 9QE, UK – 01803 833698

Fantastic meal tonight. Staff were great and went out of their way to ensure everything was ok for us, which was helpful considering we had a 1year old with us and a dog. Good food, good music and rum, what more could you want!

A busy place with time for children. A comprehensive child menu and also some excellent fare on the adult menu. Music not too loud. Friendly staff who cant do enough even when busy. Lovely time.

George & Dragon

Mayor's Ave, Dartmouth TQ6 9NG, UK – 01803 832325

Welcoming. Dog friendly. Had great cod and triple cooked chips and fresh Greek salad. Puddings are fab and will cause you a choice dilemma ( in a really good way.

The food here is always excellent and very good value. We've had a private party up in the restaurant, everything was brilliant including Leigh's homemade celebration cake and little cakes. Would definitely recommend it.

Dartmouth Arms

26 Lower St, Dartmouth TQ6 9AN, UK – 01803 832903

Popped in as had researched dog friendly pubs on google whilst taking the short low ferry across from kingswear. The lass behind the bar was spot on, friendly & brought over some cold water for our Pug. The food was good, had burgers but the only thing that didn’t make me give them 5 stars was the onion rings... I think if you’re charging nearly £5 for a side of onion rings, at least serve homemade ones not the ones you can buy from a supermarket for a quid. (Or charge a couple of quid not £4.75). Other than that, the Stilton burger was great 👍🏻

A visit to Dartmouth isn’t complete without grabbing a pint from the Dartmouth Arms and sitting outside looking out over Bayards Cove. An absolute gem of a spot and the kids can crab over the harbour wall. Pub staff are friendly, all drinks at perfect temperature and the loos are clean. Fabulous!

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Coast & Country Cottages

1 The Sail Loft, 12 Mayors Avenue, Dartmouth TQ6 9NG, UK – 01803 839499

It was perfect for our needs. They were very helpful and gave us change if bedding at no extra cost because we had a staff changeover. The house we stayed in was very spacious with a humongous master bedroom. The decor was mid century style, which can be seem as fashionable or laughably dated depending on your perspective

Gorgeous apartment for any time of year but kept us cozy during the snow of February and March 2018...

Dartmouth Holiday Homes

16 Duke St, Dartmouth TQ6 9PZ, UK – 01803 833082

We stayed in the Penthouse Lee Court for a week in July, it was so good we booked again. The Penthouse is beautifully furnished and well maintained. The terrace / balcony overlooks the River Dart just along from Coronation Green. The staff at Dartmouth Holiday Homes are so helpful with every aspect of Dartmouth knowledge and arrangements for arriving and leaving.

Very nice and quiet

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Hillhead Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Plenty to see and do.... Site its self is very well managed. Club House a great idea. Food really good. Outdoor Pool spotless, and they have an Adults Only time 10-11.30am 👍 Very dog friendly. Dartmouth 15/20 minutes away is a must across the lower ferry. Also Brixham not that far either. Bus stops right out side entrance of Site! So happy camping 😍

Lovely site. Everything you need to stay here. Ideal for dogs and children. Of any grumble which really is a small one. We we're told.to go find and choose our own pitch. We spend a bit of.time searching as the best pitched had gone. Would prefer to be shown.

Leonards Cove Holiday Park

New Rd, Dartmouth TQ6 0NR, UK – 01803 770206

We stayed there in July for a week. Had a caravan with spectacular views and the area was nice and quiet. The property was clean and well looked after. Site staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. On site restaurant Radius7 served excellent food cooked to order. Local pub and shop within a few minutes walk. Would come back again.

The campsite was fine, the site itself wasn’t very flat. The toilets could be cleaned more often also. Blackpool sands is just a 10 minute walk away and it’s a lovely beach. The little village is cute with a nice pub - the green dragon.
